
John "Bootsie" Griggs
Pastor of Family Life
Rev. John Bootsie Griggs joined the ministry team at St. Luke as minister of youth and family in January 2024. Bootsie is an Ordained Elder with the Church of the Nazarene. He is a native of Hartsville, graduate of Newberry College and Carolina’s School of Ministry. Bootsie is employed with Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) and serves as the Area Director of the Pee Dee.
Before joining FCA, he has served as Lead Pastor, Minister of Youth and Music, Director of Hospice, and Regional Vice President of Hospice. He currently serves as the volunteer lead Chaplain for Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center and the Life Coach for the Hartsviile Red Foxes.
Bootsie is married to Jenny, they have two adult sons and one four legged son, Cruze.
Bootsie loves the calling on his life to work with coaches, young athlete and all whom they influence. Hebrews 12:1 reminds us we are all athletes if we are to be like Jesus!
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.
